Colossians 3:15-17

hey y`all.
last night, Eric preached a sermon on music. it was really good, way to go Eric:] and the big thing i wanna focus on tonight is the verses he used. Colossians 3:15-17, which are three verses i am very farmiliar with. i have read them many times and they're underlined in my bible. They are, "And let hte peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whosoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." when i went to Calvary Baptist, childrens church was called Patch the Pirate club. and we had this thing called Super Salior, which i won i twice. i dont quite remember what it was for. but i do remember at the begining of chruch we always recited Colossians 3:16. and i've never forgotten that verse. it is def one of my favorites, for many reasons, and because i love to sing. and whats better than to sing about than Jesus! like 3:17 says "...do all in the name of the Lord Jesus..." so music, is wonderful. and we need to use this wondeful tool and these wonderful talents God has given us to glorify him. we need to use music as a tool to minister to others, to reach out to lost, and to tell about all the things God does and that he gives us. songs can even be used as a tool for teaching about God, and everybody lovess to hear music. and like Eric mentioned last night, its not about the instruments and the pace or beat, what makes music Christian music is the lyrics. so pay close attention to the lyrics of the music you listen to to figure out, maybe if you should be listening to that or not! music is an amazing tool to worship God and to teach others about him :]
i love y`all
God Bless!
