Phillipians 4

hey y`all!
today was good. i went shopping with my mom this morning & then to nanas to help her out & then i walked 4 miles with candace & then we played with cameras for like 2 hours so today was pretty good! so last night for my devotion i read in Philippians 4 because mr allen said to spend some time in it & i thought it was a good idea b/c i had been prayin for God to show me something to do a devotion on because i've finished my book, i need to go to lifeway & get me a new devotion book! so anyway, when mr allen read out of Philippians 4 he talked about contentment. and how we'll never be content unless we have Jesus. and so mr allen told us the secret to being content. you wanna know what it is? its my favorite bible verse. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." so by the worlds standards, we'll never be content, because there is always something better. but if we've got Jesus, we can get through anything thats thrown at us, & we'll always be content with what Jesus has given us. hes pretty amazing if i do say so myself. im gunna write about Philippians 4 tomorrow too because theres other stuff i want to say about it but for now i am sleepy because walking 4 miles will do that to ya :] so ill talk to y`all tomorrow
Church tomorrow, yessss.

he put us here to have an impact...

hey y`all!
so i was looking through my sermon book, and i stumbled upon Pastor Chad's 'what if we dreamed big' sermon. that is one of my favorite sermons that hes preached and so i wanted to take the time to talk about it, now it was awhile ago almost 4 months ago that he preached it but i dont think i had my blog when he preached this sermon so i wanted to talk about that today :] so here are some of the points he made that i really liked:
-God didnt put us here just to exist. he put us here to have an impact.
-God is take us places we've never been before to do things we've never done before & to accomplish things that seem impossible.
-If we're following God we're accomplishing things that we cannot accomplish on our own.
-we need to say God, put me in a group of people doing something bigger than me-i just want to get on board.
-God gives the vision to a person, & he leads people to get this accomplished.
i really liked this sermon. because it is true, we all want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, to see the amazing things God can do and to really accomplish what may seem impossible!
i love y`all!

random thoughts :]

hey y`all!
well i did my homework for kims class, for my devotion last night so i really dont have anything to write about today so i figured i'd just share some random thoughts with y`all! today was good. i hung out with anna who i havent seen in a really long time & i got to go to my favorite place, new hope :] where mitchell FINALLY gave me my pen back. so now i dont have to beat him up. haha.

my first random thought, drama is no fun. like some people let other people just walk all over them, and i just cant stand to see them hurt. it just bothers me. i dont see how some people can just have so cold hearts to stab people in the back over & over again.

also. i need some feedback on my song-devotion ideaa. is it a good one? someone please tell me! haha. b/c i really love lyrics and i'd love to explain them & try to find the verses they're from soo if you think its a good idea, please tell me?

i have some prayer requests i'd like to share with yall:
-my uncle. hes an alcoholic & i really wish he'd come to church
-my dad. he gets mad over really dumb things and he cusses & screams and i just want to see Jesus work in his life.
-my mom. b/c she has to put up with my dads anger stuff.
-my friend. b/c theres this person who keeps hurting her
-and an unspoken.
-ohh andd cant forget kody's hip. haha promised him i'd pray for that.

so thats really all i have to write about today!

Matthew 7

hey y`all!
today was great! i went to the mall with ashley & then we went swimming. we got new purses, they're really cute :] and i think im going camping in her back yard with a bunch of the new hope girls tomorrow haha it should be a blast! i forgot to warn mitchell about the nasty pizza at drivers ed so now i feel bad. haha. oh well he survived. church tomorrow :] yay. so i read in matthew 7 last night for my devotion, & that chapter has alot of great stuff in it. Verses 1-6 talk about judging. we as Christians should not judge others, because that is up to God. and usually we tell others to fix their faults, without first fixin our own. its like telling someone they shouldnt be drinking when your an alcoholic. nobody is going to like to be convicted by someone who cannot see their own faults. so as Christians we should not judge others, but once we ourselves are through the situation someone is going through, we can use our knoweldge and tell others how God helped us through the same or a similiar situation. pastor chad preached on this like a few months ago. i also like verses 7 & 8 which say, "Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find; kknock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh recieveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." so whenever we need something, we should put our full trust in God and go to him about it. because he will give us what we want, if it be in his will. and also i like matthew 7:14 which says "Because the strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" which means Gods path is the straight and the narrow, and not alot of people see that, but as Christians we should be on Gods straight & narrow path for us :] Matthew 7 also has the story of the man who built his house upon the rock, & the man who built his house upon the sand. this story tells of how if we build our foundation strong, on the rock, we will be safe. Jesus Christ is that strong foundation. and he saves us from our sin. so if we build our life on the rock-Jesus Christ-we will not fall but be lifted up in Jesus. because he is absolutely amazing.

world or God? you decide.

hey y`all!
today was boring up until i went to candaces & we hung out, haha. the power went out so brad drug a cable from his car into the house & we hooked a tv up to it until the power came back on, thats the farthest i've ever seen anyone go for a tv, haha. i am really missin vbs. i wish we had church everyday all the time. so anyway, i was looking through my bible at some of the verses i had underlined. and i came across these two, Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." and, Mattew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." so basically, whatever we are devoted too, is what we will serve, where our heart is. so if we're not completely devoted to God, we can not completely please him. if our treasure is Jesus, our hearts will seek him. and Matthew 6:24 tells us we cannot be devoted to money & God, we have to pick one to serve. God should be the only thing we worship. nothing else is worthy. those verses just stuck out to me.

so in my blogs for awhile i think im gunna start doing my devotions on Christian songs & their lyrics, because that really intrests me, so can y`all tell me what you think of that idea??
i love y`all!

people let us down

hey y`all!
today was the best day everrr. i loved it. i went to chruch this morning & pastor chad preached a great sermon which ima talk about in a few minutes. and then i went out to eat with a bunch of people from the church & then we went to brads && watched movies until time to go up to the church for VBS. all of the adults & students that put so much time into VBS did a GREAT job. and all the kids did wonderful at the performance! and pastor chad said 10-12 people accepted Christ?! thats amazing.

pastor chad preached on how people let us down this morning. it was a really good sermon so ima tell y`all the key points from it. the verse he used this morning was Isaiah 53:3, "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not" So anyway, pastor chad told us we should be able to take the persecution with help from Jesus because he could take it. he told us as Christians we need to live with thicker skin, to not let all the bad things bother us and get in the way of Gods plan for us. we shouldnt get caught up in what others say about us or do to us, we need to keep doing what God is leading us to do no matter what. the second thing pastor chad said was that we need to live with a soft heart. when we're saved we get a new heart, a heart of flesh and we need to be kind and compassionate to others. when others persecute us we need to treat them better than they are treating us. so the truth is, yes, people will ALWAYS let us down. but Jesus? he'll never let us down. and we always need to depend on him because he is the only one that can meet all of our needs perfectly

VBS!

hey y`all.
vbs is over && im sad to see it come to an end b.c now we have to wait until next summer to have it again! today was possibly the laziest and most boring day of my life, i did absolutely nothing but sit around by myself because nobody was home & all my friends were busy. lets hope tonight is more eventful. haha. church tomorrow :] i've come to not like days that i dont have church, they're not near as fun as the ones where i do, haha. i must say, pastor chad, you are a beast at softbasetennis ball. i, on the other hand, am probably the worst player at new hope. haha. mitchell did tell me i played better last night than i did wednesday so i guess that has to mean something. haha.

mr allen. i have a bone to pick with you. you still have my favorite purple pen mister! GIVE IT BACK!! haha. but while you have comandeered it from me, you may use it. b/c purple is pretty cool. haha.

so anyway, today i want to talk about the verses we did at VBS! Hebrews 12:1-2, "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside everyweight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" i love these verses, and they're what we talked about all week. Dan told us about going to God to set us free of a sin that could be ensnaring us. that we need to not worry about worldly things and sin and we need to focus on Jesus. and also, the end of Hebrew 12:1 says "...and let us run with patience the race that is set before us" which means we need to follow Gods plan for us, and also we need to realize that not everything will happen right away, so we need to have patience. now im not the most patient person in the world, but im working on it. we all need to realize that God has a great plan for all of our lives. we need to look to Jesus for guidance in our lives and with what we should do. we should consult Jesus about everything, that way we make the best decisions. now back to this race we're running, dan told us, that like any race, this race wouldnt be easy. and it isnt. as Christians we are persecuted and sometimes its really hard. but dan always made the point, Jesus wont give us anything we cant handle. like one of my favorite verses says "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me" so thats just the very breif version of what we talked about all week, leave me a comment if you wanna hear more :]

marvelous light!

hey y`all!!
VBS was amazingg!! i had a great time this week and Dan Carroll was really cool! im sad its over! but anyway, today i want to talk about a song we sing in youth band. marvelous light! it has some really great lyrics. heres part of the song:
"sin has lost its power
death has lost its sting
from the grave You've risen
VICTORIOUSLY!!
in to marvelous light im running
out of darkness, out of shame
by the cross You are the truth
You are the life
You are the way."
Dan showed us the verse this song came from, which is 1 Peter 2:9, "But ye are a chosen generation a royal preisthood, an holy nation a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light"
Jesus saves us from the darkness and brings us into his marvelous light. and once we accept Jesus and are brought into his marvelous light, like the song says, sin loses power over us, and death no longer can hurt us, because when we die, we go to spend an eternity with God! all because Jesus defeated the penalty for sin-death-when he died for us on the cross. when we enter Jesus's marvelous light we are free from the darkness and shame of sin just like the song says because Jesus is the truth, the life, and the ONLY way :] so Jesus saved us from our sin. and it is only through him that we come into this marvelous light. that is a pretty amazing song, dont ya think?
i love y`all!

watch your tongue!

hey y`all!
today was great. and now my knee has a face. on the front & the back. thank you mitchell. & mr allen for giving him the pen. haha. VBS is a blast. sorry about the off-pitch singing today. and i figured out for the millionth time, i cannot play kickball for anythingg! haha. oh & i want to thank sunshine for doin all the cooking & stuff. shes the bomb diggity! so anyway, devotion last night, i figured i'd talk about James 3:6-10. which says, "And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature: and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tonge can no man tamel it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the simlitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My bretheren, these things ought not so to be." so. the bible says our tongue is filled with deadly poison. i never believed the saying "sticks & stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" its not true. b/c ive heard words that have hurt way worse than ANY physical injury i've endured. the bible says we cannot tame our tongues & that they are full of deadly poison. so we need to pray to God in situations, and ask him what to say. we need to think before we speak so we do not hurt somebody with the things we say. we need to choose our words carefully, and we need to say things that God would approve of, and now frown upon. we should not speak ill of other people, when they're around, or behind their backs. because even if they dont know your saying something about them, God does! so the tongue can be used for blessing, or it can be used for cursing. we should always go to God before we say something that way we know that it will be good and it will not hurt whoever we are talking too or about!
i love y`all!

His love!

hey y`all! today was a great dayy! we played this pretty cool game at VBS tonight -props to mr allen for what me candace & katie have named soft base tennis ball. haha. so we should def do that again :] VBS is the bomb! haha mk so my devotion last night! i did it on Gods love. have any of you ever realized how much God actually loves us? b/c its more than we could ever imagine!! so lets see what the Bible says about it, Psalm 103:17-18 says, "but the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them" so 1. Gods love is everlasting. and in return we should keep his commandments and follow him :] Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" so 2. God loves us SO much that even though we sin against him, he sent his only son to die for us. John 3:16 also tells us this :] and also one of my favorite verses 1 John 4:9, "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him" also 1 John 4:19, "We love him, because he first loved us" God loved us from the begining and thats why we can love, because he loves us so much. So, tell me, who are you gunna give your life too? because God loved us SO much that he sent his one and ONLY Son to die for us so that we could spend eternity with him. i think thats a pretty amazing guy to give your life too :]
i love y`all!

VBS is here!

hey y`all!
soo VBS is pretty awesome! Dan Carroll is cool, great choice mr allen! haha. all the little kids look like they're having soo much fun too. except im not so sure those bats were good for the youth to get ahold of. haha. so i want to focus on two verses tonight. Ephesians 6:6-7, "Not with eyeservice as menpleasers but as the servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service as to the Lord, and not to men." so as Christians, we should not live to please men. we should live to please God. along with that comes, that we should not care what everyone thinks, we should only care what God would think. like worship, so what if we're put on the spot, get up there and do it for God. who cares what everyone thinks, he'll be there with us. most things that men think are acceptable arent acceptable to God, and we should also think about these things. before we do something we should ask ourselves, "would God like this?" we need to do everything God asks, and we need to do it with our whole hearts. God does so much for us, we should give him everything we have and not ask any questions when he asks us to do something. whatever God wants us to do, he will help us through it, and it will always be the best for us because he only wants what is best for us. and def. what is best for us, would be to follow his plan. so next time God asks you to do something, do it! dont worry about what people thing, its God you've gotta spend eternity with :]
i love y`all!

im back!

hey y`all!
sorry its been awhile. i've been really busy with the church friday & saturday & last night i had a humungo headache all day and so i went to bed. first off, georgia was a blast! stone mountain was reallyyy pretty. and six flags was as fun as it could be for not liking rides. haha. mitchell was sick, so i didnt have to ride anything, i probably wont be that lucky on the carrowinds trip. && im really excited about VBS all week :] so last night i was looking through my bible and i wrote down some of my favorite verses, and i figured i'd share those with you today! they get me through a lot, and i hope they can help you too :]

First, is my favorite. Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is the substance of all things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" without faith, we have no religion, because we cant see God, but we still have faith that hes there, and when we do, he does things to show us hes there, 'the evidence of things not seen'

Psalm 56:11, "In God have i put my trust; i will not be afraid of what man can do unto me" i love this verse. we should all put our trust in God, and we shouldnt worry about what man can do to us, because as long as God is in control, we can get through anything with him.

1 John 4:9, "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him" so, God loved us so much, he sent his son to die for us, so that we can live through him, and go to heaven. which brings me to my next verses which are probably the most well known verses in the entire bible.

John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved" Amen. haha. these verses say it all. God loved us SO much that He sent His one and only Son to die for us, so that the world can be saved through Jesus. its because of Gods amazing love for us that we are able to enter heaven, only through accepting Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spritiual songs; singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" love this verse. i've mentioned it before about how it was our verse in patch the pirate club. it is a great verse. we need to learn Gods word and we need to praise him with it for all the wonderful things he does for us!

Psalm 31:3, "Since You are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of Your name lead and guide me" in other words, God is our strength, and we always need to remember that. he will guide us in the direction we need to go in if we let him.

Phillippians 4:13, "I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me" i love this verse as well. NOTHING is impossible with God. and we can accomplish anything if we listen to God and if we have Jesus Christ in our hearts.

and the last verses i want to tell you about are Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways awknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." this verse i've told many people about during difficult times, and it has helped them tremendously. so i hope that it may help you too :] if we trust God, with everything we have he will show us where to go. without God we are basically blind, but with him, we have a new light and we can live our lives to please him all we have to do is trust him.

so...have faith :]
i love y`all!

random thoughts

hey everyone!
sorry i didnt post yesterday. ashley was over and so i didnt have time. instead of a real devotion last night, ashley and i just started on our books for our discipleship class with Kim. So i dont have a devotion to tell y`all about today but i do have some random thoughts ima share with y`all.

first. im excited about georgia with the youth group tomorrow. except for the fact that i really dont like rollercoasters all that much, i have a feeling i'll probably have to learn to like them before the end of the trip because i think i may be drug onto them, even if im kicking and screaming. haha. either that or ill have to become a beast, and be able to dump mitchell in a trashcan, mr allen says.

also. i was thinking yesterday during Kims class when she was talking about people we hang out with and how thankful i am for the wonderful friends God has given me. i get to surround myself with the most amazing people ever. its great to hang out with people like ashley because we can talk about Jesus and what hes done for us, and we pretty much agree on everything :] ashley is def the best friend ever.

i was talking to ashley last night. and we realized, we were freshman two years ago. we have two years of highschool left, & then we're out. its rather scary. im not ready to be out of highschool & away from all my friends. so lets just hope these next two years seem extordinarily long.

another thing. isnt it great whenever you get to catch up with a friend you havent talked to in awhile? i had drivers ed tuesday and one of my really close friends from freshman year was in there, and i hadnt talked to him at all sophomore year, and we got to hang out for awhile. it was neat.

and lastly, i really like this anberlin song called "The Unwinding Cable Car" anberlin is a Christian rock band, and they're...different...more posthardcore, so idk if everyone would like them, but i think they're pretty amazing so if you get a chance, listen to that song. this particular song is more alternative, its acoustic, so give it a try :]

Colossians 3:15-17

hey y`all.
last night, Eric preached a sermon on music. it was really good, way to go Eric:] and the big thing i wanna focus on tonight is the verses he used. Colossians 3:15-17, which are three verses i am very farmiliar with. i have read them many times and they're underlined in my bible. They are, "And let hte peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body: and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whosoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." when i went to Calvary Baptist, childrens church was called Patch the Pirate club. and we had this thing called Super Salior, which i won i twice. i dont quite remember what it was for. but i do remember at the begining of chruch we always recited Colossians 3:16. and i've never forgotten that verse. it is def one of my favorites, for many reasons, and because i love to sing. and whats better than to sing about than Jesus! like 3:17 says "...do all in the name of the Lord Jesus..." so music, is wonderful. and we need to use this wondeful tool and these wonderful talents God has given us to glorify him. we need to use music as a tool to minister to others, to reach out to lost, and to tell about all the things God does and that he gives us. songs can even be used as a tool for teaching about God, and everybody lovess to hear music. and like Eric mentioned last night, its not about the instruments and the pace or beat, what makes music Christian music is the lyrics. so pay close attention to the lyrics of the music you listen to to figure out, maybe if you should be listening to that or not! music is an amazing tool to worship God and to teach others about him :]

His protection

hey y`all!!
sunday was great. i was at church all day with my favorite people, we got to go do ministry work at the park and play in the creek & then we went to get icecream :] and me & ashley lead worship that night & then i went out to heritage park with the church gang, im soo glad they're home. so i did my devotion on God's protection. for lack of time, these verses are long, im just gunna give you the references and then write about it, if you have any questions, or want me to type out the verses, just say so, and i will :] Zephaniah 3:17, Ephesians 6:10-11, Psalm 7:10, & Psalm 125:1-2. So, alot of times we cant stand on our own, actually, all the time we cant. as mere humans, we are incapable of accomplishing things without God, and we will all face obsticles, temptations, and mean people in our lifetimes. Fortunately as Christians, God is here to protect us through all of these things, he is our armour. He saves us and he defends us that are right in our hearts. Psalm 125:1-2 says, "They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed but abideth forever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalme so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even forever." so, if we trust in God we will be as strong as a mountain, unremovable. and he protects us forever, he surroudns us and we can always count on him to be there. he is a loving God. and i think its pretty amazing. so we never have to feel unprotected or alone, God is always there and he will never leave us. all we have to do is put our trust in him :]

music!

hey y`all!
well today was good. i went and got my hair cut. its not much shorter. but i like it. i've been reading pretty much all day and i finished one 500 page book and half of another soo yeah im a bit of a bookworm. haha. so yesterday in Landing Zone Eric was talking about music, and he read us Psalm 98. so i figured i'd tell y`all about the 2 verses that really stick out from this Psalm for me. and i am totally excited to hear Eric preach tomorrow on music since its one of my favoritee subjects. mk i just tripped over my dog. poor bailey. when i say i trip over everything, i literally mean, everything. im such a klutz. so anyway, Psalm 98. Verse 1 says "O sing unto the Lord a new song, for he hath done marvelous things his right hand and his holy arm hath gotten him the victory" which means, we should praise [sing] to God because he does marvelous things. and it just sticks out to me because i absolutely love to sing, and what better way to use it, than to praise God for the marvelous things he does!! and the other verse i really liked, which Eric also put much emphasis on was Psalm 98:4, which says "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise" i LOVE this verse. in other words, our music should be joyful for the Lord, and it should be loud! so we should be loud and proud when we're prasin Jesus whether it be singing, playing guitar, drums or any other instrument. if we're going to make good music, and give it all we got, why not give it all we got for the Lord who loves us. the Lord who sent his son to save us :] i think thats a pretty great reason to get excited, dont you??
well i love y`all!

Psalms

hey y`all! today was really good. Landing Zone is pretty fun & Eric talked to us about music and it was really cool, i cannot wait to hear his sermon on music Sunday night. i absolutely lovee music. so im reallyyy excited about it. mk so, i dislike feet. very much so. just to let y`all know. haha. so anyway, last night, i was looking through some of my notes, and i wrote down some verses that meant a lot to me in Psalms. Psalms is like my favorite book of the Bible, and i have over half of it underlined in every color imagineable, haha, but here are just a few verses that stick out to me: Psalm 18:1-3 says, "I will love thee, O lord my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer my God my strengith in whom i will trust my buckler and the horn of my salvation and my high tower. i will call unto the Lord who is worthy to be praised; so shall i be saved from mine enemies" in other words, God is our strength, hes our everything. without him we have nothing, we can accomplish nothing. but if we put faith in him, he will save us :] Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and my sheild; my heart trusted in Him and i am helped; there fore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will i praise Him" i love this verse. again, God is our strength. if we trust in him, he WILL help us. hes always there. and when he does, we should praise Him! everyone worships differently, i love to sing. so yes, i will praise Him with my song :]] Psalm 62:7, "In God is my salvation and my glory the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God" all these vereses help me when im going through tough times, i just have to realize yeah im weak, but through God i am strong. Psalm 121:1 says "in my distress i called unto the Lord, and he heard me" God always hears us. if we're troubled, we need to seek him, and he will always hear us, and he will always help us. it might not always be when we want or how we want, but God always knows best. and hes helped me alot lately. prayer is very powerful and if i didnt go to God about allll of my problems, i'd never make it through them. also i like Psalm 56:11, which says "in God have i put my trust; i will not be afraid of what man can do unto me" in other words, as long as we trust in God we shouldnt be afraid of what people can do to us. God will always take care of us. theres many more verses i love in Psalms. but i just watned to tell y`all about these.
i love y`all!

tomorrow

hey y`all! so devotion. i did it on Jesus's resurection!! because Eric was talking about it last Sunday in Sunday school. and our religion would be nothing without the Resurection because its the basis of everything, the reason Jesus could die for us and wash us of our sins is because he conquered the penatly for sin--death. he rose again. so what does the Bible say? 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says, "For i delievered unto you first of all that which i also recieved how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried and that he rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures" and Job 19:25 is a good one it says, "For i know that my redeemer liveth..." so basically, Jesus is alive. Chads sermons on the resurection were reallyyy good. i have notes on those, if you wanna hear about 'em leave me a comment or something. Read Luke 24:1-6 it describes when they go to find Jesus and he isnt there b/c he ressurected. we serve a LIVING God!! isnt that exciting??!

church :]

hey y`all! went to church tonight, i love that place :]] so i did my devotion last night on church! lemme say, i love my church. its pretty much the most amazing place ever. so anyway, what does the bible say about church?? 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, "now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." so thats saying, we're all individual members of the church, but we are the body of Christ. which one of my favorite songs talks about, "if we are the body" by casting crowns. oh buddy do i love that song. haha. anyway, 1 Corinthians 3:16 says "know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the sprit of God dwelleth in you?" so as Christian church members we are to spread the word of God and he lives in us :]] Acts 20:28 says, "take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers to feed the church of God, which he hath purchase with his own blood" in other words, we should seek others to church. so like Pastor Chad & Mr. Allen tell us all the time, we are to invite people to church! especially lost people in hope that they'll get to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!! Mark 11:17 says, "And He taught saying unto them is it not written, my house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but he have made it a den of theives" in other words, we're supposed to respect Gods house. and its supposed to be a place of learning and fellowship & prayer. :]
so ill leave on this note....invite someone to church!!!
i love y`all!

eternal life!

hey y`all!
todays been pretty boring. i've done nothing but sit around. church tomorrow :] yay. i miss ashley, haha. i wish she'd come home from the beach. but i hope shes having a good time. anyway, i did my devotion lats night on eternal life! because i know that i'll have eternal life with Jesus, but will you? God gave me the chance to witness to this girl today, she didnt take it very well, but its up to God now. he told me to do it, so i did. she really doesnt like me very much, and i've never done anything to her or said athing bad about her, and she just hates me, and well i figure thats not very Christlike and so i fiound out she didnt believe in God, and so i witnessed to her, well maybe she listened i dont know, but i know anything is possible through God and its up to him now :] i planted the seed. so anyway, back to my devotion...eternal life. well lets see what the bible has to say about it...1 John 5:11-13 says, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe of the name of the Son of God." soo...first thing about eternal life...we can only acheive it through Jesus-the Son of God, it says "...and this life is in his Son" so if we accept Jesus, we will have life, eternal life, but without Jesus, we're not really alive. John 11:25-26 says, "Jesus said unto her, I am the ressurection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live and who soever lifeth and believeth in me shall never die" which tells us again, through Jesus we have eternal life because he is our life. like Eric was talking about in sunda school he said that the importance of Jesus's resurrection is that the penalty for sin is death, and Jesus overcame death. so it is only through im that we can be saved. 1 Timothy 6:11-12 says, "But thou, O man of God flee these thigns and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good flight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thou art also called and hast professed a good profession before man witnesses" which tells us we should live rigteous lifes after we accept Jesus and also we get eternal life because we profess our faith with our mouth! so basically, eternal life is only accomplishable through Jesus Christ!

Practicle Atheism

hey y`all!
so today, i wanted to take the time to talk about Mr. Allens sermon from yesterday morning. let me tell you, he did a wonderful job and God really spoke through him. my brother had been talking about Practicle Atheism the other day and i had really wondered about it, so it was very interesting to hear Mr. Allen preach on it! anyway this past weekend has been really great, i spent alot of time at church, but i was really busy and thats why i've been slackin on the bloggin lately, sorry y`all! anyway so, Practicle Atheism- someone who expresses God with his mouth and then lives like he doesnt exist. Mr. Allen made the point that this is the churches greatest failure in faith. he says we need to live our faith and its not just what we believe, its what we do. We really need to seek God when we have decisions to make, because what God wants for us is always best. He also talked about Proverbs 3: 5-6, which are two of my favorite verses! Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not into thine own understanding, in all thy ways awknoweledge Him and He shall direct thy paths" which Mr. Allen told us, commands us to be dependant on God, it does not say "if you want too" we need to seek God about EVERYTHING! Mr. Allen also said that we need to change the way we think and that we should live our faith out loud!
so, Trust in Jesus!!!!
i love y`all!

i got alotta bloggin to do

hey y`all!!
mk so basically great day. just got back from frankies with the youth group! thank you mr allen for taking uss! your the bomb diggity! haha and thank you for the icecream you know how much i love icecream! anyway so my 2 devotions. haha since its long tonight im just gunna put the refrences & then write about 'em, if you want more info like the verses, leave me a comment or send me an email. :] so my first devotion was on character. heres the verse references:
1 Cor. 15:33, Rom. 5:3-4, Pro. 22:11, Pro. 27:19. and so character, well as Christians we really need to have good character. we shouldnt hang around with evil people or let people decive us. we should always look to God. we need to glorify God during our tribulations and have patientce. we need to have kind and pure hearts also. my second devotion i did on courage. heres the verse refrences: Deuteronomy 31:8, Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 31:24, Psalm 27:14. So we should have good courge because the Lord will NEVER forsake us. we shouldnt fear, because he is with us. God is our strength and we can do ANYTHING through him. its pretty amazing isnt it? so we should have courage, because God gives it to us. and its only through him we can achieve it!
sorry it took awhile to finish this
i love y`all!
God Bless!
